Cell shading

The Shading menu of the View group of the Home ribbon tab determines the manner in which measured values are checked for differences against values fitted or predicted by Assay and how the difference is displayed in the Measurement Grid. Possible shading options you can select from include:

Generation: The degree of deviation of the entered values from the fitted values is indicated by the degree of red shading of the measurement grid cells. The degree of shading displayed is directly proportional to the size of the difference between the measured and fitted values. This is the default setting. See Warnings.

Consistency: Each measured value for a property is checked for consistency with what the value would be predicted as if that value were not present in the original set of measurements. For example, imagine sulphur values are entered for all the cuts in an assay. During generation a profile is predicted for sulphur based on the entered values. To check the consistency for the AGO cut the AGO sulphur measurement is deactivated and the profile generated again. If the cut value based on this new profile is similar to the original measured value then the measurements are consistent. However if the new generated profile has resulted in a significant change from the original measurement then the values are inconsistent and the particular value would be highlighted with blue shading. The darker the blue shading the bigger the difference between the original measured value and the value predicted by the model if the measurement were not present. Once consistency is set, you can check it at any time by pressing the
button. By default, consistency checking is not available in Documents that do not
exploit Assay 's statistical model. During consistency checking each property is checked
independently of all other properties, and each cut value is checked independently
of the other cut values. Although consistency checking compares profiles as a result
of many different theoretical generations, the results are actually calculated during
the standard generation step - therefore it is not necessary to regenerate the assay
to check consistency.

None: Highlighting is turned off and no checking is performed.
