When creating a Planning Template it is possible to use a flowsheet as a source of streams in the template. When using a flowsheet as a source of cuts for a Planning Template it is not possible to define other perfect cuts. Only the cuts defined in the selected flowsheet can be used in the final report, and all of the cuts in the flowsheet are imported into the Planning Template. See Planning tool report templates from flowsheets.

Create a new flowsheet based Planning Template

Flowsheet based planning templates are set up in a similar manner to planning templates using perfect cutting. Click the Planning button in the Reporting group of the Reporting ribbon tab and select Manage Templates from the drop-down menu. In the Planning Template Manager click the Add button to create a new planning template.
In the Planning Template Wizard select the Use flowsheet system radio button and use the menu to choose the name of the flowsheet you wish to base the template on along with the type of planning report to create. Click the Finish button to create the template and enter the Template Editor.

Edit the Planning Template to use the flowsheet streams

The Planning Template Editor Flowsheet tab summarises the streams in the flowsheet. The Flowsheet menu allows the flowsheet associated with the template to be changed. It is only possible to select a different flowsheet if it has an identical topology to the flowsheet originally used when creating the Planning Template.
The Cuts tab of the Template Editor also shows the streams included in the Planning template. All the streams in the template must be active and are able for output in the final report. It is not possible to edit the stream's names or cut points. By default a deferred cut equivalent to the whole crude is inserted in the cutting scheme.
Edit the remainder of the Planning Template using the techniques outlined for editing Planning Templates. See Create a new planning tool report template.
