Generated profiles for model-independent properties

Modules such as AssaySynthesis and ProductSynthesis, which are capable of generating
model based descriptions of crudes, can only generate property profiles for those
properties which are included in the statistical model. Such models are indicated
by a sigma
symbol next to a property's name in the measurement grid.

When a property is included in the statistical model, a profile will be generated
when you press the
button, even if no assay measurements are included in the measurement grid.
For properties not included in the statistical model, property profiles are generated using an advanced curve fitting method. Profile based property descriptions are generated when:
-
enough assay data is entered to fit a profile curve
-
there is no property distribution present in the assay measurements.
If the assay measurements does not contain a whole crude measurement this will be generated as long as there are enough property measurements present in the assay.
Selecting the arrow on the
button gives two options: Generate and Generate Model Independent. When used in conjunction with the Additional model-independent generation options in Preferences > Standard > Generation Options, you can generate profiles for either modeled or non-modeled properties.

The following table shows which profiles are generated for each Additional model-independent generation checkbox option, depending on whether you select Generate or Generate Model Independent from the Generate button.

During generation, the Generation Dialog shows information about the progress of generation. Click the Show Details button to get extra information about the current generation. The list shows those properties which have been generated using the statistical model, and separately those properties which are not modeled but can have property distributions generated using profile fitting. If you click the Show Details button after generation, you must close dialog using the Close button.
