Grid editing

Grid editing preferences control the behaviour of the Measurement Grid in Assay generation modules.

Grid editing

When using the measurement grid to enter measurement data associated with a crude oil, or any of its streams or fractions, the following editing options are available:

• Determine the behaviour of in-place editing on a grid. This is controlled by the first check box. If the check box is selected, using the arrow keys within an edited cell will move the selection to the next cell; otherwise the arrow keys move within the edit. If editing was started by double clicking or by pressing F2, then the arrow keys will always move within the edit. This is similar to the behaviour of Microsoft® Excel®.

• Determine the direction the selection moves upon pressing Enter. This is controlled by the second check box. If the check box is selected, pressing the Enter key in a grid will move the selection in the chosen direction. This works any time on the grid. In addition, Shift + Enter will move the selection in the opposite direction, while Ctrl + Enter prevents the movement. This behaviour is also similar to that of Microsoft® Excel® . If the check box is not selected, pressing Enter will begin editing as before.

• Determine the behaviour of movement from a property or stream header in a measurement grid. When the option Go to first row or column is selected, using the right or down arrow keys will move the selection from the property or stream header to the first actual cell in the grid in the column or row of the header. When the option Go to first visible row or columnis selected, using the right or down arrow keys will move the selection from the property or stream header to the first cell in the column or row of the header that is visible in the portion of the measurement grid currently displayed on screen.
