Edit crude information

Property fields shown in the Crude Information dialog may be able to be edited directly from within the information tab itself. Fields that are standard are shown in the following table and include:

Field

Description

Descriptive Name

The name of the crude.

Origin

The origin of the crude oil. You can alter the crude origin using a location control.

Reference

A reference identifying the crude.

Traded Crude

A standard name for the crude, selectable from a drop down list.

Assay Date

The date of assay of the crude oil, which may be modified using a date control.

Sample Date

The date at which the oil sample was taken, which may be amended using a date control.

LP Tag

A three-letter tag for the crude used in PIMS assay files.

User Notes

A standard set of notes about the crude, which are shipped with the Database.

Comments

A collection of your own comments about this crude. This field is missing from user crudes.

All items are editable for user crudes, whereas only com ments and LP tags are editable for standard crudes. See User crudes.

To edit a property field in the Crude Summary dialog, double-click in the field and edit the property in place. Your changes will be saved upon closing the dialog.

Reference Conflicts

When the Preferences are appropriately set. AVEVA™ Assay prompts if a new user assay is entered with the same reference as an existing standard database assay. This prevents accidental overwriting of the standard database assay if the user assay is published to a central share. See User Database.

This does not affect the default behaviour if a new user assay is entered with the same reference as an existing user assay. In this case a prompt will alert whether to overwrite the existing user database assay.

To edit the references of assays with conflicting references either:

  • click in the Suggested reference column for the selected assay and enter the new reference, or

  • select the assay whose reference should be changed, click the Edit... button and enter the new reference in the dialog.

After clicking the Edit... button the Edit reference dialog opens which allows the current reference to be changed as appropriate.
