The Yield bar option allows you to configure a column to show a coloured bar displaying the yield of a series of consecutive cuts as different coloured sections. The yield bar shows at a glance the proportion of yield for each cut.

Follow these steps to configure a yield bar column for a view:
-
Choose Yield bar from the Field drop-down list.
-
In the Yield field, choose between yield by weight or volume by selecting either wgt or vol.
-
In the Cuts area, configure which consecutive cuts are displayed. You can delete any cuts by selecting them and clicking the Remove button. To add new cuts, click Add and enter the cut temperature in the Cut Value field. You may configure as many cut points as you wish.
-
From the Sort Cut list, choose which of the configured cuts is used as the basis for sort operations in the database view.
-
Choose one of the following options from the Display list:
-
Proportional: The yield bar spans the width of the column in the database view.
-
Centred: The yield bar is centred on the sort cut. All yield bars remain the same width but are offset to achieve this centring. When used in conjunction with sorting, this option makes it easier to compare the yield for a chosen cut and neighbouring cuts at a glance.

If desired, edit the Heading of the new column.
The illustration below shows a column in the database view configured to show a sorted, centred yield bar for the 200 to 260°C. The crudes in the view have been sorted according to yield by clicking in the yield bar column header.
