Add a property

To create a new graph property, click the button. To configure the graph property, you need to do the following:

1. Specify whether you are creating a standard or combination property.

2. Configure the attributes of the property.

3. Describe how the property will appear on the graph.

These steps are described below.

4. Specify standard or combination property

   

   Properties can be one of three types:

   • Standard properties: A standard graph property is essentially a standard base property (such as Density). When selected into the graph property control, you can also change any extra parameters, such as units or wgt/vol. Standard properties are denoted by a icon in the graph properties list.

   • Standard properties with fixed parameters: A standard property with fixed parameters is a standard property with any extra parameters and units set to an unchangeable value (such as Density at 59.0 F). When selected into the graph property control, you cannot change any of the extra parameters. Standard properties are denoted by a icon in the graph properties list.

   • Combination properties: Combination properties comprise a number of related standard properties. Selecting a single combination property in a graph property control displays multiple properties on the graph. In this way multiple properties can easily be shown on the graph. These are denoted by a icon in the graph properties list.

   To add a standard property, select the Standard Property option button in the Graph Property Type dialog box. Select the Specify Fixed Parameters check box if you wish to create a fixed standard property. By default, the Specify Fixed Parameters check box is cleared. Press OK to create the property. A new property appears in the left-hand side properties list of the Graph Property Manager.

   To add a combination property, select the Combination Property option button in the Graph Property Type dialog box. Set the category type of the property from the Property Category list. Each property comprising the combination property will be of the selected property type.

5. Configure graph property attributes

   Select the standard property itself from the Standard Property drop down list. The list displays all properties available in the Property Manager. The name of the standard property is automatically updated in the Name field to reflect the standard property of your choice, but you are free to change this if you wish.    Each property comprising the combination property must be entered into the Combination Property pane. To add a property to the combination properties list, double-click in the Combination Property pane or click the button. Choose the property from the in-place property control. Note that the property control will display only those properties common to your selected combination property category.

   To delete a property from the combination properties list, select the property in the list and click the button.

   To move entries in the combination properties list, either one place up or one place down in the list, click the or button respectively.

6. Describe how the property will appear on the graph

   To complete configuring your standard property, you need to set the graph axis display options. The following options are available:

   • Use logarithmic axis: Select this check box to have the graph axes displayed in log scales.

   • Fixed axis range: Select this check box to fix the display range for the graph axes. Enter the display range and display unit for the graph axes in the text boxes provided.
