Constraints on adjacent cuts

In the Cut column of the target specification grid you can choose among up to three cuts: the cut for which you are defining the target specification and the two adjacent cuts. However, you can only define constraints on one adjacent cut, the one which is being modified by the cut boundary change.

Suppose you have selected the End of Cut flexibility of movement, so that the optimiser will move the 250° C boundary between the Kerosene and Diesel cuts. In this case you can define property targets on the Kerosene and Diesel cuts, but not on the Naphtha cut. Since the 145° C boundary between the Naphtha and Kerosene cut remains unchanged, the optimiser has no way of changing the Naphtha cut. Therefore, it makes no sense to set targets on this cut. If you do, an Invalid Cut error appears at the bottom of the Target Specification dialog.
