Add and configure a Planning state transition

  • Last UpdatedMar 17, 2025
  • 1 minute read

A state transition defines when the state Planning record changes status after a certain event triggers. At this time, a valid trigger is:

  • InventoryFinalized - The completion of the Inventory finalization process triggers associated Planning records to change status.

Important: Be aware that when a Planning record transitions to the Active state, this triggers any configured Actions for the Planning reporting point.

Guidelines

  • The State Transitions folder is empty when you first add a Planning reporting point.

  • You can add as many state transition items as you require.

To add a state transition

  1. Under the Planning reporting point, right-click the State Transitions folder, and click Add State Transition. A new state transition item appears.

  2. Rename the state transition with a meaningful name.

  3. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Planning state transition properties.
