With the Lot Group reporting point, you can capture metadata for a lot group. The Lot Group reporting point can contain multiple capture conditions. It captures data when its fields have data available and the capture conditions are True.

A Lot Group reporting point contains the following elements you can configure:

Capture conditions - The conditions for when to capture Lot Group data.

Fields - The Lot Group data to capture and the fields in which to store the data.
Where can I add a Lot Group reporting point?

You can add one or more Lot Group reporting points to a Site or Area folder.

You can add one or more Lot Group reporting points to a work center that is a lot-tracked work center (Selective, LIFO, or FIFO).

You can add one or more Lot Group reporting points to a work unit that is a lot-tracked work unit (Selective, LIFO, or FIFO).
Other guidelines

You can add one or more custom fields to a Lot Group reporting point.

The Fields folder within a Lot Group reporting point contains standard fields named Lot Group and LocationIdentifier.

When the Lot Group reporting point contains a capture condition, configure the HistoricalFieldExpression property for the LotGroup standard field.

Each lot group identifier must be unique. The expression that generates identifier values is configured to produce a unique identifier each time. If identifiers are not unique, a business error occurs.

The standard field definitions for the Lot Group reporting point reside under the Inventory configuration item in the System Configuration folder.

A Lot Group reporting point does not consume a license.
