Note: The server must be running before you can connect to a project. See Run an AVEVA Production Management project.
Open a project
-
In Studio, on the Project menu, click Open. The Open Project dialog box appears.

-
Next to Server Name, select the network computer name of the server that hosts Server. The drop-down list displays any Server to which you have previously connected.
Note: Do not choose an SQL instance name; only the network computer name of Server.
-
Click Connect.
See the Connection status
AVEVA Production Management displays the connection status between Studio and Server in the lower right corner of the Studio window.
The Disconnected button appears when Studio first starts, and while no project is open. |
The Connected button appears after a connection is made to a project. If a project closes, the Disconnected button reappears. |
The Reconnecting button appears if a connection is subsequently broken while a project is open. You cannot save project changes to the server, until the connection is re-established. The properties window remains disabled until reconnected. |
