These examples show how different lot-merging scenarios affect the outcome of contributor values.
Note: A single lot can have only one contributor value per contribution type. Therefore, in this example, a single lot can belong to one owner only.
Scenario 1: When contributor value is the same
Two lots with the same values can merge and retain their contributor value. Successful lot merges occur when the owner type is the same.

Scenario 2: When contributor values are different
Two lots with different owner values can merge but cannot retain the owner value. The owner value of the new lot is unknown. The system does not know how to determine the owner of the new lot, so although the movement is successful, the movement retains a record that a mismatch between contributor values has occurred. There are unknown contributions in the final data results.

Scenario 3: With override contributor value
Two lots with different owner values can merge if an override is put in place to change the value of one of the owner types. If you have lots with different owners merging together, you can apply the DestinationLotContributorSet property on the material movement to specify the value of the new lot.
