Inventory enables you to track your work-in-progress materials and to know the real cost of your inventory.

Contributors

You can track contribution details along with lot movements through the production facility. You will need to set up a Contributor Set.

Genealogy

Genealogy extracts the relationships between lots so that you can determine the origin or destination of particular lots.

Lot behavior

The lot behavior of a piece of equipment determines whether the equipment tracks lots and how it selects lots to move in and out of the piece of equipment.

Configure Inventory module settings

Configure project-wide settings for Inventory on the Inventory configuration item.

Inventory configuration item

Set up the Inventory configuration item. You may also need to defined Advanced permissions.

Standard fields

Configure the standard fields for the Inventory module.

Calculated Inventory fields

Configure these calculation fields to perform a calculation on Inventory quantity to convert it to a different quantity.

Contributor Set

Define the Contributor Set. These could be suppliers or owners of source materials to track throughout the process.

Configure the plant hierarchy

In addition to basic plant infrastructure, there are Inventory elements to configure that will record Inventory data.

Work centers

Represents locations where Inventory information is required, and they represent process types. They also define how material lots behave when they enter or leave a work center.

Materials

Represent the raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods that the plant uses, produces, and stores.

Lot generators

Defines how AVEVA™ Production Management generates a lot identifier.

Material conversions

Defines how AVEVA™ Production Management converts a quantity of source material to a quantity of destination material when their units of measurement differ.

Material movements

Represents the movement of materials to, between, and from work centers.

Material Quality reporting points

Collects material quality data to assist in determining Calculated Inventory.

Lot reporting points

Captures data based on the creation of lots.
