Add and configure a diagnostic logger

You can use a diagnostic logger item anywhere in your project to monitor and record diagnostic information about performance. You might want to add a diagnostic logger to an Applications folder or to the System Configuration root folder.

To add a diagnostic logger

1. In Studio, right-click an Applications folder, point to Add Item, point to Standard Items, then select Diagnostic Logger. A new Diagnostic Logger item appears.

   

2. Rename the diagnostic logger with a meaningful name.

3. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Diagnostic logger properties.
