The personnel model contains the information about specific personnel, classes of personnel, and qualifications of personnel.
Personnel
In Studio, personnel are a configurable item that you create. You can use person items to define each person that is available to a plant so that AVEVA Production Management can identify the role of the person in the manufacturing process.

A person represents a specifically-identified individual. A person can be a member of zero or more personnel classes. Person elements can be used to contain information about specific personnel. They can also include the definition of qualification test results. They can also include the list of personnel classes to which the person belongs, and the list of qualification test specifications associated with properties.
Personnel classes
In addition to the personnel hierarchy, the ANSI/ISA–95 standard states that the personnel model also has a concept called personnel class and each class can have one or more custom properties. A specific person can belong to a personnel class. Through this association, people belonging to the same class can have the same set of custom properties.

Example: Create a personnel class with custom properties
For example, you can configure a Personnel Class of Pump Mechanic with two custom properties: YearsOfExperience and IsInUnion.

You can then configure five specific people and associate them with the Pump Mechanic class.
Each of the specific people belonging to the personnel class Pump Mechanic will inherit the two custom properties: YearsOfExperience and IsInUnion.
A personnel class is a means to describe a group of persons with similar characteristics for scheduling and planning purposes. Any person can be a member of no classes or many personnel classes.
