Add and configure a Metrics formula

A Metrics formula defines a piece of logic to perform in Metrics. After you define a formula, you can reuse the formula in multiple Metrics reporting points throughout the project hierarchy.

The reuse of these formulas has these benefits:

• Enables Metrics values to reflect the same underlying algorithm throughout the system.

• Reduces duplication errors.

• Reduces effort having to replicate formulas throughout the project hierarchy.

  

To add a Metrics formula

1. In Studio, locate the Formulas folder under the Metrics folder in System configuration.

2. Right-click the Formulas folder, and click Add Formula. A new formula appears.

   

3. Rename the formula with a meaningful name.

4. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see the Metrics formula properties.
