User management and Shared Favorites

View Shared Favorites

Shared Favorites in Production Analyst are available only for users authenticating through Active Directory and are shared based on Active Directory group membership.

Note: You can only share Favorites with groups of users. All users can create and use personal favorites.

Manage Shared favorites

The ability to manage Shared Favorites (add, remove, change, share) is enabled through a single permission (CanManageSharedFavorites) on the User Group item.

• Users with the CanManageSharedFavorites permission can manage all Shared Favorites defined in the system.

• Users without theCanManageSharedFavorites permission can only view and use Shared Favorites that have been shared with the Groups to which they are members.

Access to Shared favorites

Access to Shared Favorites is given at the folder level. The root Shared Folder cannot be shared.

• Shared Favorites can only be shared with Group users as configured in Production Management Studio.

• Users who are members of multiple groups will have access to the combination (superset) of all favorites shared with each group.
