Configure the Field ID Type property for fields

When the Field Type property of a field is set to ID, the Field ID Type property becomes available.

ID fields
Fields with the FieldType of ID are used for grouping and pivoting.
-
Each field with Field Type of ID can be selected to group data across the x-axis of the graph. They cannot be used as values to chart on the y-axis.
-
Only fields that are not defined as ID fields can be charted in the y-axis.
-
For each field that you add to your system, decide whether it is a value field, in which case set its FieldType property to anything other than ID, or a grouping and pivoting field, in which case its FieldType must be ID.
When the Field ID Type property becomes available, you can select options.

For example, if the field is recording a product type, set the FieldIDType property to ProductID. With these settings, the reporting point and client can cross-reference the recorded product with the product attributes defined under product types.
