Calculated Quality reprocessing

The processing of Calculated Quality to estimate quality is part of Inventory reprocessing. When a Quality record is updated, a Calculated Quality record is not updated until Inventory reprocessing is complete.

For more information, see About Quality Events.

Scenarios for Calculated Quality

Consider the following scenarios for movement events that involve Calculated Quality.

Scenario 1

If two movement events have the same time, and belong to the same lot group, the order of arrival in the system determines the order in which the events are processed. The event that arrives in the system first, is processed first. When the second event arrives, it is processed and overwrites the first event because it has the same time. This means that the Calculated Quality value for the first event is replaced with the Calculated Quality value for the second event.

For example:

  • LotGroup1 has a balance of 100 tons, with 50 tons in Lot1, and 50 tons in Lot2.

  • The Calculated Quality result for Movement 1 occurs at 11.25am and removes 10 tons from Lot1.

  • The Calculated Quality result for Movement 2 occurs at 11:25am and adds 50 tons to Lot2.

  • The Calculated Quality result for Movement 2 replaces movement 1 because they occur at the same time, so the addition of 50 tons to Lot2 replaces the movement that removes 10 tons from Lot1.

Scenario 2

When scenario 1 occurs, and the second event takes the balance of the lot group to zero, the first event is replaced with the second event, and the second event is deleted because the lot group balance is zero.

  • LotGroup1 has a balance of 100 tons, with 50 tons in Lot1, and 50 tons in Lot2.

  • The Calculated Quality result for Movement 1 occurs at 11.25am and adds 50 tons to Lot1.

  • The Calculated Quality result for Movement 2 occurs at 11:25am and removes 50 tons from Lot2.

  • The Calculated Quality result for Movement 2 replaces movement 1 because they occur at the same time, so the removal of 50 tons from Lot2 replaces the movement that adds 50 tons to Lot1. The removal of 50 tons from Lot 2 takes the balance of Lot2 to zero, so movement 2 is deleted.
