Add and configure a document

A Document item enables you to host an external document (web page) in the equipment hierarchy that you can access in Production Analyst as a view. You can specify the module with which the document associates.

Build the HTML file outside of the Studio environment in a standard Web development tool. Then store the HTML file on Server and use IIS Server to host the web page.

Note: This is similar in function to HTML pages in the Metrics module, and documents in the Knowledge module. However, the functionality is extended to host an external web page under any module.

To add a document

You can add a document to the project root folder or an Applications folder.

  1. In Studio, right-click the project root folder or an Applications folder, point to Add Item, then Standard Items, then click Document. A new Document item appears.

  2. Rename the document with a meaningful name.

  3. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Document properties.
