Export a project in XML

In addition to the backup or restore archiving utility, you can import or export your AVEVA™ Production Management configuration database in xml format.

Note: Studio must be connected to a project for an import or export to occur. The export operation does not include the configured permissions that are stored in Authstore.xml file. You need to manually copy the XML file from C:\ProgramData\Citect\Ampla\Projects\<ProjectName> to get the configured permissions.

Persisted runtime values

The backup includes persisted runtime data. The option to retain the current values, or restore the backed-up values is provided in the restore confirmation dialog box. For more information, see About persisted runtime values.

Export a project in XML

1. In Studio, check that the project you want to export is open and connected to the server.

2. On the Project menu, select Export.

3. Type an appropriate name for the export file in the File name field.

4. Click Save. After the backup, a confirmation message appears.

5. Click OK.
