About material requirements

  • Last UpdatedMar 17, 2025
  • 2 minute read

A material requirement is a requirement for an amount of material to be consumed or produced at a certain location. In the process of planning Inventory operations, it is often necessary to plan the requirements for consumption and production of materials within the production process. This is done to make sure that upstream processes are able to produce enough materials.

The read-only Material Requirements view in Production Analyst provides a view of material requirements for Inventory plans.

Access material requirements through web services

AVEVA™ Production Management uses a matching service process to compare the details of actual movements against details of planned activities, and stores the results in the AVEVA™ Production Management database. You can access the information through web services.

  • Use SubmitData to insert or update material requirements.

  • Use GetData to retrieve data about material requirements.

Matching criteria

The matching criteria item facilitates the matching of movements to plans. You can add filters to the matching criteria item to search for an existing plan that matches the movement being processed.
