Sometimes, different assets within the supply chain have a defining source characteristic that you may want to keep track of.
You can add and define contribution details to attach to lots. An example of contribution details might be a source supplier, owner, or original location.
For example, the business may want to apportion payment to the different owners of a product, based on the amount of material the owners contributed to the shipment. We refer to these types of source characteristics as contribution types.
The contribution types and contributors apply globally to the project.

Contribution Types
In this example, each owner contributed 25% source material to the final product.

A contribution type is a category of source characteristic. Examples of contribution types could be:
-
Owners
-
Suppliers
-
Financers
-
Geotype

When you configure Calculated Quality fields, the fields that point to Material Quality fields are able to supply contribution quality data. Fields that do not have a link to a Material Quality field do not supply quality data.
