Add and configure a Decision matrix

You can locate a Decision matrix anywhere in the project hierarchy. However, it is typically located in the same folder as the reporting point that references it.
-
All input data types must be of Boolean type, which is the only valid data type.
-
There is no limit on the number of inputs to the Decision matrix.
Note: Copy, paste, rename, and delete are available for root-level components of the Decision matrix.
Scenario example
The number of input items should correlate with the maximum number of inputs required for all rules.
For example:
-
Rule 1 needs 3 inputs
-
Rule 2 needs 1 input
-
Rule 3 needs 5 inputs
Therefore, under your Decision matrix you would add 5 inputs. For Rule 1 and Rule 2, you would set the inputs that are not required to ignore under the rule.

To add a Decision matrix
-
Right-click a location in your hierarchy, point to Add New Item, point to Standard Items, then click Decision Matrix. A new Decision matrix appears.
-
Rename the Decision matrix with a meaningful name.
-
After you add a Decision matrix, you must add at least one Decision input item.
To add an Input
-
Right-click the Decision matrix and click Add Input on the shortcut menu. Add as many Inputs as you require.

-
Rename the Input items accordingly.
Enter an input name without spaces, a number at the start, or special characters like ampersand (&) or asterisk (*).
-
Configure each of the input items. For guidance, see Input properties.
-
Add Rules.
-
Add Outputs.
