Navigate by Cause Location

Selecting the Cause Location option reveals the full equipment hierarchy. In addition, the hierarchy shows only locations for which the user has security permissions to see in the selected module. Cause Location applies to the Downtime and Energy modules.

You might choose to navigate by Cause Location when you want to focus on cause and effect. Perhaps you want to focus on Downtime events, downstream and upstream, that are caused by a selected piece of equipment.

To navigate by Cause Location

1. In the Location panel, click Navigation Mode.

2. Select Cause Location from the list.

   

   As a result of selecting the Cause Location filter:

   • The full equipment hierarchy displays. The hierarchy shows every location in the hierarchy that the user has security privileges to see.

   • After you select a location, the software filters records in the grid view by the Cause Location column.
