Validate a project

Before you start a project, it is a good idea to validate the project to check for configuration errors. However, validation is not mandatory.

Function

Description

1. Save

Compiles and saves the project.

2. Validate

Checks for configuration errors.

3. Start

Connects to the server and starts the items in the project.

The validation results display in the Output pane. If the project has no detectable configuration errors, the Project was validated successfully message displays.

You can double-click an error message to view an extended description of the error.

Validate a project

  1. In Studio, on the Project menu, click Validate.

    Note: You can also right-click the project root and then click Validate.

  2. Check the Output diagnostic messaging window for error messages.
