Manage Shared favorite groups (Admin topic)

Note: This procedure is available to users with the CanManageSharedFavorites permission.

If you have the CanManageSharedFavorites permission, you can manage the group of users that is associated with a shared folder.

Permissions inheritance

Permissions for a parent level folder will automatically apply to all the subfolders.

Example

If there is a Site1 folder with a subfolder WorkCenter1, when a usergroup Group1 is selected for Site1, then Group1 permissions apply also to the subfolder WorkCenter1.

To manage groups associated with a Shared folder

1. In the Shared Favorites panel, right-click a shared folder and click Manage sharing.

   

   The Manage sharing dialog box appears.

   

2. From the left pane, select the Shared Favorites folder to manage. The right pane displays all user groups. You can select or clear the checkbox to share or unshare the favorite with a particular group.

   Note If access to a folder is inherited from a parent folder, you will need to go to the parent folder where the user group is inheriting access from, and clear the checkbox to unshare. You can tell if access is inherited by the value in the Reference Folder column.

3. Click Close.
