Add and configure an OPC DA data connection

You can add an OPC DA data connection to an OPC DA data source. The OPC DA connection specifies connection settings to an OPC DA server; such as the computer name, server ID, and timeout settings for connections and requests.
The data connection uses pinging, which is a mechanism to monitor the health of the connection to verify valid connectivity. The data connection periodically issues a ping, which is a call for the connection status. AVEVA™ Production Management displays the connection status in the ConnectionState property of the data connection.
A project can contain more than one data source, but a data source can contain only one data connection.
