Understand Clipped durations in Planning

  • Last UpdatedApr 23, 2025

If a Planning record continues past the time period in a filter, you may be interested in either the full duration of the Planning event, or only the clipped portion of time that occurs within the specified time period. This applies to both actual durations and planned durations.

Diagram showing clipped durations for planning. In the planned duration, 2 of the 3 hours fall within the sample period. In the actual duration, 1 of the 3 hours falls within the sample period.

Planning data results display the clipped Planning duration followed by the full time duration. The clipped time is the time that occurs only within the time filter window.
