The Site folder is an element of the plant hierarchy. It correlates to the site in the ISA-95 Equipment Hierarchy Model, and it represents a physical, geographical, or logical grouping that the enterprise determines.
A project can contain any number of site folders. If the project contains the Enterprise folder, the site folders must reside in that folder. Depending on the requirements of the project, however, you can choose not to use an Enterprise folder. In such a configuration, the Site folders can reside in the project node only. You would typically name a Site folder with the name of the city where the site is located.
Note: The Site folder replaces some of the functionality that the Applications folder had in earlier versions of AVEVA™ Production Management. Convert the Applications folders of your plant hierarchy to the new folders and work centers where it is relevant to do so.
You can add any number of Site folders to the project. If the project contains the Enterprise folder, you can add site folders to the Enterprise folder only. If the project does not contain the Enterprise folder, you can add Site folders to the project node only.
