AVEVA™ Production Management can aggregate data from multiple reporting points to group, sum, or average, but only if the relevant fields have the same name. The property of the field specifies the method of aggregation that AVEVA™ Production Management uses.
Aggregation methods
AVEVA™ Production Management can aggregate data by any of the following methods:
-
Count - Counts the number of entries.
-
Maximum - The maximum recorded value.
-
Minimum - The minimum recorded value.
-
Mean - The mean average of recorded values.
-
Sum - The total of recorded values.
Name custom fields
The names that you give custom fields affects the aggregation of data. AVEVA™ Production Management can aggregate data from multiple reporting points to group, sum, or average, but only if the relevant fields have the same name.
For this reason, you should assign the same field name to data that is common across multiple areas. Consider the circumstances of your plant hierarchy and how you want to view field data in AVEVA™ Production Management to help you choose appropriate field names. Different circumstances dictate different conventions for various points.
Note: Fields with the same name in multiple locations require identical settings for the DataType, FieldType, and FieldIDType properties in order to display the data properly. Otherwise, AVEVA™ Production Management may not be able to display the data and there could be a validation error.
