This section contains items that you can do to monitor the performance of Windows on the Server.
-
Check hard disk space
Check the hard disk space routinely to make certain AVEVA™ Production Management has enough hard disk space to operate.
-
Clear temp folders
Although AVEVA™ Production Management does not write to any temp folders, it is still a good idea to routinely clear the contents of temp folders that may be produced by other software.
-
Check for memory leaks
Periodically check for memory leakage. An indication of memory leakage is that you may see the total memory use on a performance counter steadily rising and not recovering. For more information, see Performance counters.
-
Specify the size of the Application event log
AVEVA™ Production Management writes to your Application event log. Specify the log size of 100 MB – 250 MB (recommended for most installations). For more information, see Specify the size of the Application event log.
-
Defragment the hardware
Defragment the hard drive of an Server regularly for optimal performance. For more information, see Schedule disk defragmentation.
-
Virus scan the drive
It is important to protect the Server from viral threats. For more information, see Installing virus scanner.
