Configure the Field Type property for fields

The Field Type property of a custom field determines how the field is available for charting and reporting purposes.
A field that has the DataType property set to String and the FieldType property set to ID is available for Grouping by in charts and reports.
The Field Type property of a custom field identifies the field as one of the following types:

Description |

ID |
Fields with a field type of ID are available for charting values on the x-axis of Production Analyst. When the Field Type property of a field is set to ID, the Field ID Type property becomes available. |

Other |
Fields with a field type of Other are available for charting values on the y-axis of Production Analyst charts. |
Important: Fields with the same name in multiple locations require identical settings for the DataType, FieldType, and FieldIDType properties; otherwise, AVEVA™ Production Management might not record or aggregate the data, and AVEVA™ Production Management might not display the data.
