Input and output work centers

When you add a site, or upgrade a site from a previous version, two special work centers are added to the model: input and output work centers.

Studio project hierarchy showing the struction of a Site Folder item, which includes the Area Folder item and its child components such as Process Cell, Production Line, Storage Zone, and so on. This also showing the Input and Output work center items.

If you were to think of a network diagram, the input work center is like the starting point, while the output work center is the termination point.

  • The input work center is created to enable you to specify custom fields that relate to where the material originally came from. For example, blast block information from a mine.

  • The output work center is created to enable you to specify custom fields that relate to where the material is going. For example, the name of the customer to whom the material is being shipped.

Note: The work center replaces some of the functionality that the Applications folder had in earlier versions of AVEVA™ Production Management. Convert the Applications folders of your plant hierarchy to the new folders and work centers where it is relevant to do so, see Convert the Applications folders.
