AVEVA™ Production Management

How Real Downtime works

  • Last UpdatedFeb 25, 2025
  • 2 minute read

Downtime records events when a process area is not operational. Real Downtime is when a process area has stopped completely. AVEVA™ Production Management is using some elements to calculate Downtime. For a list of the elements, see Elements used for Downtime calculation.

How does AVEVA Production Management calculate Downtime?

Typically, Downtime events are configured to monitor a condition that determines when a process area is not operational. For example, the condition could be "Motor is not running" or the condition could be "Output Rate=0".

Note: Real Downtime takes precedence over Virtual Downtime.

Downtime does the following:

  • Monitors the configured condition to determine when downtime occurs.

  • Has permitted delays before reporting; StartDelay and StopDelay.

  • Begins reporting when Downtime duration has continued longer than the permitted amount of time.
