Refresh security permissions after role or group changes

Refresh security permissions after role or group changes

Issue

After a user or role is mapped to a security group, the updated security permissions may not take effect immediately for users who have recently logged in. This can occur because cached security information is still being used.

Solution

If a user or role is mapped to a security group and the user has logged in recently, perform an IIS reset to refresh the cached security information and apply the updated permissions. For information about performing an IIS reset, Diagnostics.

If the user's last login was more than a couple of hours ago, an IIS reset is typically not required because the cached information will have expired.
