Consider a scenario where a user called 'Rose' belongs to the 'Reader' security group. The 'Can Delete Item' right is initially set as 'Disallow' for 'Reader'. The example shows how to set this right to 'Allow' so that this user will be able to delete the Item.

Procedure:

  1. Access the URL https://worktasks.connect.aveva.com/EC123456789.

  2. Select Workflows.

  3. Select any workflow, and click Delete. The following warning message gets displayed:

You do not have rights to perform this action.

  4. Click OK.

  5. You now have to edit the security group definition of the 'Reader' to allow deleting an item.

  6. To edit the Reader security group, log on as Administrator.

  7. Click Repository Settings (top-right corner).

  8. Click the Advanced Settings tab.

  9. Click Manage Security Groups. The Security Group page is displayed.

  10. Select Reader, and click Edit. In the Generic List Actions rights (name), the 'Can Delete Item' is selected as Disallow.

  11. Select Allow.

  12. Click Save. The Synchronization screen is displayed. Click Yes to synchronize the security groups to the below levels. Click OK in the confirmation window.

  13. Log on as 'Rose'.

  14. Select Workflows from the Enterprise Console menu.

  15. Select any workflow and click Delete.

  16. Click Yes and then click Close to delete the item successfully.
