An installed package can be uninstalled using the Uninstall option. When a package is uninstalled, all the artifacts with the associated and child artifacts will be uninstalled from the target environment and all configuration settings that were done will be reverted.

Prerequisite

Before uninstalling the package, ensure that the Client Service is running.

To uninstall a Package

  1. Log on to the Enterprise Console.

  2. On the Enterprise Console menu, point to Package, and then click Manage Package.
    The Manage Package window appears.

  3. Select the package that you want to uninstall, and then click Uninstall.

Alternatively, you can right-click the selected package, and then click Uninstall.

The Pre-uninstall Validation and Configuration page appears.

    • You can edit the configuration for any artifact in the Pre-uninstall Validation and Configuration page, if required. For more information about editing a package, see Editing a Package Template.

    • You can also reload the validation log messages for artifacts. For more information about reloading the validation messages, see the Reloading the validation log messages for artifacts section below.

    • You can validate the log messages before proceeding with the uninstallation. For more information about validating log messages, see Validate the log messages if present.

    • The Pre-uninstall Validation and Configuration page shows the count for Errors, Warnings, Information, and All. Click a category of message to view its related information. For example: If you want to view the warning messages, click Warnings.

  4. Click Uninstall.

The Package Uninstallation screen appears when the uninstall is in progress.

The progress of the package uninstallation is displayed in the progress bar.

After the package uninstallation is complete, the status of each artifact and installer files (if applicable) is displayed.

If there were any errors/warnings during the uninstallation of any artifact, then the count of the errors, warnings, and information appears in this page.

  5. Click Close.

The artifacts in the package are deleted. The status of the package is updated as Uninstalled.

Note:
- While uninstalling the package all the artifacts may not be deleted, if a backup of the artifact is present in the target environment.
- If you are uninstalling an artifact which has multiple versions, then all the versions of the artifact will be uninstalled. However, the artifact will be considered as only one artifact. For example: If you are uninstalling a Workflow artifact which has versions 1 and 2, then both the versions will be uninstalled. However, the Workflow artifact will be considered as only one artifact.

Reload the validation log messages for artifacts

When you select an artifact and edit it before uninstalling the package, the updated messages are displayed only for that artifact. However, if you edit other artifacts while editing the selected artifact, then the messages are updated only for the selected artifact, and not for the other artifacts.

For example: Consider a scenario where “Package1” consists of three artifacts namely Database Connection, Grid Configuration, and Lookup Settings.

  • Scenario 1: You select the Database Connection artifact and click Edit, and then you save the settings and the template. In this scenario, the updated messages for Database Connections are displayed and the Database Connection artifact is reloaded.

  • Scenario 2: You select the Database Connection artifact and click Edit. You also edit some of the settings for the Grid Configuration and Lookup Settings artifacts in the respective Settings tab, along with the settings for Database Connection. After you save the settings and the package, only the updated messages for Database Connections are displayed. The messages related to Grid Configuration and Lookup Settings artifacts will be displayed in the Pre-uninstall Validation and Configuration page, only after clicking Reload.

  1. Log on to the Enterprise Console.

  2. On the Enterprise Console menu, point to Package, and then click Manage Package.

    The Manage Package page appears.

  3. Select the package that you want to uninstall, and then click UnInstall.

Alternatively, you can right-click the selected package, and then click UnInstall.

The Pre-uninstall Validation and Configuration page appears.

  4. Click Edit to modify the settings of artifacts.

  5. After all the changes are done for the artifacts, click Save Settings and then click Save to save the package.

  6. Click Reload.

The updated messages are displayed for all the edited artifacts and these artifacts are reloaded.
