Update a Locked List Item from Invoke Form Activity

List items can be updated through Workflow > Invoke Form activity irrespective of whether it is locked or not. Lock will not be considered while updating the list items through Invoke Form activity.

Scenario

Consider a list item New Employee Details which is associated to a workflow Employee Induction workflow on event creation. In the Invoke Form Activity, Lan is assigned to update the employee details.

  1. Login to the Enterprise Console as Rick, create a new employee Peter Botham. Workflow Employee Induction is triggered and a mail is sent to Lan who is the assigned actor in Invoke Form activity. 

  2. Login as John and lock the list item New Employee Details.

  3. Login as Lan and access the Inbox to view the work item assigned.

  4. From the work item, open the form and update Peter Botham's email address.

  5. Verify the list item New Employee Details.

List item New Employee Details is updated with the new employee Peter Botham's email address even though it is locked.
