Control Generation of Package Template

In the Package Template list, you can control the user from generating the package template.

To generate a package template

  1. Log on as a user who belongs to the Contributor security group.

  2. Open Package Template page.

  3. Select a published package template, and click Generate. A message about successful generation of a package template appears.

  4. Click OK.

To control the user from generating the package template

  1. Log on as the Administrator user.

  2. Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

  3. In the Advanced Settings tab, click Manage Security Groups. The Security Group page appears.

  4. Right-click the Contributor security group, and then click Edit. The Modify a Security Group page appears.

  5. In the Package Template List Rights section, uncheck the Generate right to restrict the contributor from generating the package template.

  6. Click Save. The Synchronizing the Security Group dialog box appears.

  7. Click Yes if you want to synchronize the changes to the below levels, or else click Submit.

  8. Click OK in the confirmation window.

  9. To verify if the a user who belongs to the Contributor security group can generate a package template or not, log on as a user who belongs to the Contributor security group.

  10. Open Package Template page.

  11. Select a published package template, and click Generate. The following message appears:
    You do not have rights to perform this action.
