This home page is typically designed for users who, for example, play the role of a Senior Developer. Users in the Reader security group are generally assigned to Home Page 1. (For general information on security group assignments, see Web Part enabled home pages)
Home Page 1 includes three default Web Part zones. The default Web Parts placed in these zones are:

Web Part Zone Header: Work Item List Web Part

Web Part Zone Left: Calendar Web Part

Web Part Zone Right: Queue Web Part
Users with the appropriate security rights can add additional Web Parts to any of these zones.
