Inclusion and Exclusion

Inclusion-Exclusion is the facility provided for the user to grant privileged access or restrict the access that users have, to the selected rights. It is provided in the form of a check box in the BAM Rights/Process Designer Rights window. It decides whether the selected rights have to be included (privileged) or excluded (restricted) for the security group.
Examples:
Inclusion:
Assume that the Check for Inclusion is selected. This means the selected rights are included (privileged) for the selected security group user.
In this example, categories like Human Activities, Integration Activities, Engine Activities & Scheduler Activities are included (privileged) and some activities from Human Activities category like Approval, Check-List, Choice and Information are included.
To achieve the same, perform the following steps

Login to the Enterprise Console.

Click Repository Settings.

Click Advance Settings > Manage Security Group.

Select New or Edit a security group. For example, select Administrator security group and select Edit.

Click Set Process Designer Rights.

Select the Check for Inclusion check box.

Select Human Activities, Integration Activities, Engine Activities & Scheduler Activities categories. Also select some Human Activities like Approval, Check-List, Choice and Information.

Click Save.

Click Save to reflect the changes made in the Set Process Designer Rights window.

Click Yes to synchronize the changes to the below level or click Submit if you do not want to synchronize.

An alert message will pop up saying . Click OK to close this window.

To see the effect, open the Process Designer window. Only the selected categories and selected activities from the Human Activities are included in the Activities drop-down list.
Exclusion
Assume that the Check for Inclusion is box is not selected. This means the selected rights are excluded (restricted) for the selected security group user.
The this example, categories like Human Activities, Integration Activities, Engine Activities & Scheduler Activities are excluded (restricted) and some activities from the Human Activities category like Approval, Check-List, Choice and Information are excluded.
To achieve the same, perform the following steps:

Navigate to the security group definition and open Set Process Designer Rights window to set the rights. (Perform the steps 1 to 5 from the above 'Inclusion' example).

Unselect the Check for Inclusion check box.

Select Human Activities, Integration Activities, Engine Activities & Scheduler Activities categories. Also select some Human activities like Approval, Check-List, Choice and Information.

Perform the steps 8 to 11 from the above 'Inclusion' example.

To see the effect, open the Process Designer window. The selected categories and activities from the Human Activities are excluded from the Activities drop down list.
Note: If a new Category, Activity, Property and Menu is added after setting the Process Designer Rights then it will not be included and will not get affected.
