What is Execution Details Window?

Execution Details Window displays the selected activity details like Step details, Variables, Contents and Content.

How to Access Execution Details Window?

To access the Execution Details Window, click any activity in the Process execution view window.

The Process execution view window can be accessed in two ways:

From the Enterprise Console menu, select Reports. Double-click any instance of a workflow in the Execution section of the BAM Report. This will open the Process Execution View window.

or

From the Enterprise Console menu, select Workflows. Right-click any published workflow in the Workflows list and select Publish and Test Run from the context menu. This will open the Process execution view window.

Note: If you are not able to see the Reports menu item in the application menu, it means that the Can Consume right is set as false for whatever security group you belong to at the repository level.

Purpose

AVEVA Work Tasks implements security for this Execution Details Window. This window is accessible only if the user has the permission to view this page. Otherwise, the system will prompt the user stating “You do not have rights to view this page”.

This section explains the how to set or configure the security for the Execution Details Window.

Predefined Security Groups - Permissions

The default value of this right for the different predefined security groups is as follows:

Security Group Name

To implement the security for the Execution Details Window, the user has to select/unselect the Execution Details Window check box in the BAM Rights section.

Inclusion & Exclusion Scenarios

If the “Check for Inclusion” check box not selected, the selected rights are excluded. Similarly, if the “Check for Inclusion” check box is selected then the selected rights are included. In the Inclusion scenario (When the "Check for Inclusion" check box is selected), if the “Execution Details Window” check box is selected then the user can view the Execution Details Window.

In Exclusion scenario (When the "Check for Inclusion" check box not selected), if the “Execution Details Window” check box is not selected then the user can view the Execution Details Window.

Note: As the Execution Details Window is accessible from the Process execution view window, the user must have at least one view selected in the Views of the BAM Rights section.

Users who belong to either the administrator or the contributor security groups are able to view the execution details. Users who belong to either the reader or limited access security group are not able to view the execution details. See Predefined Security Groups - Permissions

Scenario

Scenario Name: Restricting the user from viewing the Execution Details Window.

Business Scenario: This scenario describes how to prevent the contributor user from viewing the Execution Details Window in the Process execution view window.

Roles: To understand this scenario effectively, assumed that there are two users in a repository. One user belongs to the Administrator security group and the other user belongs to the Contributor security group.

  1. UserA  - Has Administrator access rights.

  2. UserC - Has Contributor access rights.

The following table depicts the users and their security groups:

As mentioned in Predefined Security Groups - Permissions, the users who belong to either the Administrator or Contributor security groups have the rights to view the execution details by default. So Both UserA & UserC have the right to view the execution details window.

Here UserA (Administrator) wants to prevent UserC (Contributor) from viewing the execution details window. The same is depicted in the following table:

UserC
