Control Package Uninstall

In the Manage Package list, you can control the user from uninstalling a package.

To uninstall a package

  1. Log on as a user who belongs to the Contributor security group.

  2. Open Manage Package page.

  3. Select a package, and click Uninstall. The Uninstall page appears.

  4. Specify the required configurations.

  5. Click Uninstall. The Package History page appears, and then package uninstalled successfully message appears.

  6. Click OK.

To control the user from  uninstalling the package

  1. Log on as the Administrator user.

  2. Point to admin, and then click Repository Settings. The Repository Settings page appears.

  3. In the Advanced Settings tab, click Manage Security Groups. The Security Group page appears.

  4. Right-click the Contributor security group, and then click Edit. The Modify a Security Group page appears.

  5. In the Manage Packages List Rights section, uncheck the Uninstall right to restrict the contributor from uninstalling the package.

  6. Click Save. The Synchronizing the Security Group dialog box appears.

  7. Click Yes, if you want to synchronize the changes to the below levels, else click Submit.

  8. Click OK on the confirmation window.

  9. To verify if the a user who belongs to the Contributor security group can install a package or not, log on as a user who belongs to the Contributor security group.

  10. Open Manage Packages page.

  11. Select a package and click Uninstall. The following message appears:
    You do not have rights to perform this action.
