Event Association with Enterprise Console at List item Level

1. While trying to uninstall an associated package item, the following message appears:

Enterprise Console Event Association will be retained.

Analysis:

Consider that you delete an associated item after installation. You then create the item manually with the same configuration as the associated item that was installed with the package. If you try to uninstall the manually created item, you get the message that the Enterprise Console Event Association will be retained.

2. While trying to uninstall a package item, the following message appears:

Enterprise Console Event Association will not be uninstalled as it was not installed by current package.

Analysis:

Consider that an Event Association exists in the target. When you update the package, the Event Association does not get overwritten. So, when you try to uninstall the updated package, the Event Association item does not get uninstalled as it is not a part of the updated package.

3. While trying to install a package item, the following message appears:

Event Association already exists and cannot be updated.

Solution:

This message appears for event associations of all types, namely BAM, Scheduler, and Enterprise Console. The message appears when an item with the same configuration already exists in the target. The overwrite options is not applicable for an Event Association.

If you want to install the association in the package, or use the latest event association of the package, delete the event association in the target, and run the package again.

4. While trying to update a package item of the type ListItem, the following message appears:

Invalid Enterprise Console Event Association exists. Delete the invalid Enterprise Console Event Association and run the package again.

Analysis:

This message appears only if the Enterprise Console Event Association is installed by the current package, and if the Enterprise Console Event Association is of type ListItem.

For example, consider that you create an Enterprise Console Event Association and associate it to a form called "Employee". Package the association and install the package in the target environment with the associated form. Now, delete the associated form, "Employee", and run the package again in update mode. You can see a message that an invalid Enterprise Console Event Association already exists and it has to be deleted.

Solution:

This message appears when an associated list item is deleted without removing the event association. Delete the existing event association manually, and run the package again.
