Overwrite Workflows

When the selected version of the workflow is in published state, and one or all of the following Invoke Workflow control properties are modified
-Workflow Details
-XML Variable Name
-XML Schema
then the workflow must be unpublished, or a different version of the workflow must be selected, or a new version of the workflow must be created.

Use the Workflow Overwrite Configuration page to select an overwrite configuration.

Follow the steps for Editing Properties of Controls till you a get the Properties dialog box for the Invoke Workflow control, edit properties of the control, and then click Apply.

To overwrite a workflow

  1. In the Workflow Overwrite Configuration page, do one of the following:

    Task

    • Unpublish the selected version of the workflow.

    1. Under Overwrite Configuration, click Unpublish current version.

    2. Follow the steps for Changing the state of running or paused workflow instances.

      • Create a new draft version of the selected workflow.

      Under Overwrite Configuration, click Create a new draft version.

      • Select a specific draft version of the selected workflow.

      1. Under Overwrite Configuration, click Select a draft version.

      2. In the Workflow Version list, click a workflow version to select a specific draft version of the selected workflow.

        Note: This option is available only when the selected workflow has multiple draft versions.

      2. Click Apply. The Workflow Overwrite Configuration page is closed.

      Change the state of running or paused workflow instances

      1. In the Workflow Overwrite Configuration page, do one of the following:

        Task

        Action

        • Unpublish the selected workflow by pausing all running instances of the workflow.

        • In the Workflow Instances box, click Pause. All running instances of the selected workflow are paused and the workflow is unpublished.

        • Unpublish the selected workflow by terminating all running and paused instances of the workflow.

        • In the Workflow Instances box, click Kill. All running and paused instances of the selected workflow are terminated and the workflow is unpublished.

      2. Click Apply. The Workflow Overwrite Configuration page is closed.
