Use the Expression Editor

Activity Properties define the behavior of tasks in AVEVA Work Tasks. These properties can be configured in two ways:

• By entering direct/static values into text boxes or pop-up windows.

• By using the Expression Editor to apply dynamic logic through expressions.

The Expression Editor is a web-based control integrated with the Process Designer, designed to help you build a wide variety of expressions using different types of objects. The editor supports only C# syntax for building expressions.

An expression is a legal combination of symbols that can be evaluated to produce a result.

The Expression Editor provides an advanced alternative for setting property values by enabling the use of dynamic, logic-based expressions.

You can open the Expression Editor by clicking the Expression Editor icon next to property fields in the Activity Properties section.
