Replace Controls

You can replace a control to change a control to a different control at the same position on the canvas.

To replace a control

1. In the Enterprise Console, click the Menu button, and then click Forms. The Forms page appears.

2. Right-click on a form, and then click Design Form (or click on a form, and then click Design). The Forms Designer page appears.

3. Point to the control on the canvas. The Shortcut menu appears.

4. Click the Replace button. The Replacement Control Configuration page appears.

5. In the Replacement Control list, click a control.

   The Replacement Control drop-down lists,

   1. the controls if the control you want to replace is the basic control

   2. the containers if the control you want to replace is the container (Base Form and Panel Form)

6. Do one of the following:

   Task	Action
   Copy values of similar properties from the existing control to the replaced control.	Under Copy Similar Properties, click Yes.
   Delete the existing control and add a new control.	Under Copy Similar Properties, click No.

7. Click Apply. The control is replaced and the Replacement Control Configuration page is closed.

   Note:
   - If you replace a control, then the control cannot be restored.
   - Replacing a control with the Pop-Up, Embed Form, or Tab control or vice-versa is not supported.
   - You can replace the basic control with another basic control and not with the container.
   - You can replace the container with another container and not with the basic control.
