Users must be assigned the appropriate roles in CONNECT before they can access the AVEVA Work Tasks service and perform operations on a specific customer folder.
Prerequisites
Before assigning roles, ensure the following:
-
Work Tasks service is enabled for the customer folder.
-
The required users or groups are already added to the CONNECT account.
-
You have administrator privileges in CONNECT.
Users and groups must exist in the CONNECT account before they can be assigned to Work Tasks roles.
Assign roles
-
Log on to CONNECT.
-
In the left navigation pane, select Folder management.
-
Select the required customer folder.
The customer folder displays the services enabled for that instance.
-
Under Services, locate Work Tasks.
-
Verify that the Work Tasks service toggle is enabled.
If the service is disabled, users cannot access the Work Tasks console.
-
Select the More options menu for the Work Tasks service, and then select Manage roles.
-
Select Assign role.
-
In the Assign role pane:
-
Select Service role.
-
From the Service list, select Work Tasks.
-
From the Folder list, select the required customer folder.
-
From the Role list, select the required role.
-
Specify one or more users or groups.
-
-
Select Save.
The assigned users or groups can now access the Work Tasks service for the selected folder.
Note:
- You can assign roles to a single user, multiple users, a single group, and multiple
groups.
- The following default security groups are available in Work Tasks: Administrator, Contributor, Reader, Limited Access
- In cloud deployments, apart from the default security groups listed above, 20 additional
default security groups named Work Tasks Role One through Work Tasks Role Twenty are available. These roles function similarly to limited-access roles. Administrators
can customize the permissions for these roles at the repository level based on business
requirements.
- If a user or role is mapped to a security group and the user has logged in recently,
perform an IIS reset to refresh the cached security information and apply the updated
permissions. For information about performing an IIS reset, see Diagnostics.
