Global Work Item Layout

You can package and deploy the Global Work Item Layout from one environment or repository to another environment or repository using the Package feature in AVEVA Work Tasks.
Note: The Global Work Item Layout from one cloud environment can only be moved to the other cloud environment.
To add Global Work Item Layout to Package Template

Navigate to Global Work Item layout.

Select a Global Layout.

Click Add to Package Template. The Add to Package Template page appears.

Associated Artifacts for Work Item Layout
Work Item Layout does not have any associated artifact.
Child Artifacts for Work Item Layout
Work Item Layout does not have any child artifact.
Configuration Settings for Work Item Layout
The Work Item Layout has a unique set of configuration settings required for installing, updating, and uninstalling the Package. You can edit and view the configuration settings from the Source Environment > Package Template screen or Target Environment > Manage Package screen. The Settings tab of the Work Item Layout artifact allows you to define the configuration settings. The Associated and Child Artifacts tab are not enabled as it cannot have Associated and Child Artifacts.

Settings Tab: You can use the properties in this tab to take appropriate actions while installing, updating, or uninstalling the Package.
Install: The settings in this tab is referred to when installing the Package.

Work Item Layout Exists: Select this property to take appropriate action when the Work Item Layout which is being installed is present in the target environment

Do not install Work Item Layout: Select this option to use the Work Item Layout which is present in the target environment.

Install to overwrite existing Work Item Layout: Select this option to overwrite the Work Item Layout which is present in the target environment with the one that is currently being packaged.

Work Item fields are not packaged when packaging Work item layout, hence if the work item fields are not available in the target environment, then on installing the package the following message appears 'Work Item field(s) is missing: <Field Name>'. This can be resolved by creating the required work item fields in the target environment.

If the data type of the work item field in source and target environment do not match, then on installing the package the work item layout definition will be updated with the data type and values of the work item field as in the target environment. In this scenario a message 'Work item field(s) is of different type' appears.
Update: You can use the settings in this tab when the same package is installed for the consecutive time.

Delete Work Item Layout: Select this option to delete the Work Item Layout which is present in the target environment

Yes: Select this option to remove the Work Item Layout in the target environment. On selection of this option, the Work Item Layout Modified property appears.

Retain: Select this option to retain the Work Item Layout along with the modifications, in the target environment even after the Package is uninstalled

Rollback: Select this option to roll back to the original state. All modifications that were done to the Work Item Layout after it was installed in the target environment will be reverted. However, the Work Item Layout will be retained in the target environment.

Delete: Select this option to delete the Work Item Layout from the target environment when uninstalling the Package.

No: Select this option to retain the Work Item Layout in the target environment. On selection of this option, the Work Item Layout Exists property appears that you can configure.

Use Existing Work Item Layout: Select this option to use the Work Item Layout which is present in the target environment

Do not update Work Item Layout: Select this option to overwrite the Work Item Layout which is present in the target environment with the one that is currently being packaged.

Uninstall: You can use the settings in this tab when the package is being uninstalled in the target environment.

Delete Work Item Layout: Select this property to retain or delete the Work Item Layout in the target environment even after the Package is uninstalled.

No: Select this option to retain the Work Item Layout in the target environment even after the Package is uninstalled.

Work Item Layout Is Modified: Select this option to decide if you want to retain, roll back to original state or delete the Work Item Layout in the target environment even after the Package is uninstalled. This property is displayed only if Delete Work Item Layout is set to Yes. However, if Delete Work Item Layout is set to No, this property is not displayed.

Retain: Select this option to retain the Work Item Layout along with the modifications in the target environment even after the Package is uninstalled.

Roll back to original State: Select this option to roll back to the original state. All modifications that were done to the Work Item Layout after it was installed in the target environment will be reverted. However, the Work Item Layout will be retained in the target environment.
